As a teacher you have ownership of assigned courses, lessons,  quizzes and certificates. These tutorials are meant to serve as a resource as you familiarize yourself with this new learning management platform.

Managing Course Content

Manage Courses, Lessons and Quizzes.

Editing Classes

  1. Navigate to Teaching Dash > Classes.
  2. Hover over an existing class.
  3. Click the “Builder” link
  4. In the right sidebar, you will see a list of any lessons you’ve created. Click ‘Add’ or drag and drop the lessons into the class content section to attach a lesson to your class.
  5. Click the update button in the upper right.

Alternatively, you can click on the class title or “Edit” link to bring up the “Edit Class” page. Once there, click the “Builder” tab in the top navigation bar.

Attaching a Zoom Meeting

  1. Navigate to Teaching Dash > Classes.
  2. Hover over an existing class.
  3. Click the “Edit” link
  4. In the left sidebar, select your zoom meeting in the ‘Zoom Meetings’ section.



  5. Click the update button in the upper right.

The lesson page content is where you have full control over creating content for your daily classes. If you’ve added topics or quizzes to your lesson, the platform will automatically add a list of associated content to the bottom of the lesson page.

The lesson page content you add here is your own custom information that will be displayed above any associated topics or quizzes.

Managing Lessons

  1. Navigate to Teaching Dash > Lessons
  2. Click on the lesson you’d like to edit -or- click the Add New button
  3. You will automatically land on the Lesson page tab
  4. You can immediately start adding your content

Adding Lesson Content

When creating a new lesson, these are the minimum steps required to ‘publish’ your class lesson. 

1. Add your lesson title and description.



2. Click the Settings link in the top menu.

3. Turn Lesson Materials on and start adding materials or supporting documentation.



4. If you have assignments for the lesson, enable the ‘Assignment Upload’ option and choose ‘Manually Grade’.



5. Under ‘Lesson Access Settings’, click the ‘Specific Date’ option and add the date and time your lesson should be available for students to access.



6. Click the Publish button. 

For Existing Quizzes

If you’ve already created a quiz:

  1. Navigate to Teaching Dash > QUIZZES
  2. Hover over an existing quiz
  3. Click the “Builder” link

Alternatively, you can click on the quiz title or “Edit” link to bring up the “Edit Quiz” page. Once there, click the “Builder” tab in the top navigation bar.

Creating Your First Quiz?

  1. Navigate to Teaching Dash > QUIZZES
  2. Click the “Add New” button at the top of the page
  3. Click the “Builder” tab in the top navigation bar

Every question you use in any quiz across your site is stored in one, central location. While you can use the quiz builder to add questions & configure your entire quiz, you can also modify questions on their own, dedicated page.

Navigate to Teaching Dash > Questions

Click on any question to open it’s edit page.

When creating a new quiz question, one of the first things you’ll want to do is choose your question type. LearnDash offers the following question types:

  • Single choice
  • Multiple choice
  • Free choice
  • Sorting choice
  • Matrix sorting choice
  • Fill in the blank
  • Assessment (survey)
  • Essay (open answer)

To select your question type, look for the Answer type box in the sidebar. Select your type:

 

Question Title & Text

The question title is only for internal use. It is not displayed to the user.

The question text is where you actually type the question you have for the user. This uses the classic WordPress editor, so you can insert images, format your text & use custom HTML.
