ASD from A to Z Navigating Academic and Social Instruction for Students with ASD

Participants will explore the various learning and social characteristics of students who have Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). They will examine and practice a variety of techniques to address the academic, social and emotional needs of these students. Presenters will discuss current practice in evidence-based programs and assessment tools to evaluate progress.

Areas explored will include:

  • Historical perspectives of education for students with ASD
  • Learning and Social characteristics and needs
  • Academic and Social demands throughout the grades
  • The Newgrange Social Strides Program
  • Integration of Speech and Occupational Therapy
  • Assessment
